Kantar Retail Launches First UK PoweRanking Study

We are delighted to announce the launch of our inaugural 2015 UK PoweRanking study. The PoweRanking study is now in its 19th year in the US, and its 4th year in China and we hope to make this a trusted and respected benchmark for the UK industry.

The study identifies who is considered best in class according to trade partners, providing insight into why they are considered the best and highlighting areas of improvement.

The research has uncovered some valuable findings and provides guidance on where companies should improve performance and collaboration in order to achieve future growth. This knowledge will help all of us in the UK industry to understand how we can work together to reconfigure our retail strategies and take advantage of the “shop waves” ripping through today’s UK retail environment.

Highlights of the report include:

  • Asda highly commended as the best of the best despite recent troubles
  • Manufacturers have faith in Tesco’s return with a landslide 74% of manufacturers naming Tesco as a “power retailer”
  • Discounters Aldi and Lidl favoured well and are one step ahead of their market share positions
